Klaus doesn't have to ask what Ben means when he says that 'they' said they could get back, he knows. The...things...that come out through Ben's stomach, he knows they whisper to Ben, talk to him like Klaus' ghosts talk to him. It's something they've always had in common, being terrified of their abilities and hating them for it. Terrorized by them.
Ben's teeth are chattering and he says he thinks he might be in shock, he presses his cold cheek against Klaus' neck, and that he may be able to walk. Klaus makes a soft noise of frustration, and shakes his head.
"Probably. I have to get you upstairs...you know what, just...remember when we were kids, we used to piggyback each other when things were really bad sometimes? I think I can get you up the stairs...you think you can manage that?"
